Rosacea Awareness Month: Key tips for managing your rosacea
Rosacea is a very common skin concern that we often see in our practice. It's best described as a permanent flush - an inflammation or redness that appears on the skin (especially on the face and particularly around the cheeks and nose).
April is Rosacea Awareness Month, and in this short video, our Skin Therapist Amanda explains everything you should know about this condition.
Firstly, why do people get rosacea at all? Rosacea can arise from a genetic disposition, environmental triggers, or internal health issues. A period of ill health can trigger inflammation in the skin that manifests into rosacea.
Rosacea can be unique to manage, so it's very important to discuss it with your skincare professional. The key is to identify what causes your specific symptoms before a treatment plan can be formed. You can learn more about this in one of our past blogs.
Amanda talks about some of the treatments and strategies that can be used to treat rosacea, which can include LED light therapy, mild chemical peels and/or oral prescription medication.
She also discusses how to identify and avoid environmental triggers so we can get on top of the symptoms you're experiencing.
