Why telling friends about your aesthetic treatments is normal in 2019
While plenty of celebrities try to claim that the secret to looking younger is drinking lots of water, exercising regularly, and eating well, it is easy to guess that many of them have had some help from aesthetic treatments along the way.
You may think that celebrities aren’t the only ones who try to keep cosmetic enhancements to themselves, but it appears that most of us are actually more than happy to share our secrets for younger, healthier and more rejuvenated skin.
Research suggests that the secrecy and stigma around cosmetic injectables and other aesthetic procedures is changing, and it is now more acceptable than ever to tell our friends, partners and families about the treatments we undergo.
The number of people who tell their friends about their aesthetic treatments has increased from 53 per cent in 2013 to 81 per cent in 2019, and the number who tell their partner has increased from 40 per cent to 67 per cent in the same time period. Similarly, the number confiding in family members has nearly doubled.
As aesthetic procedures become less taboo and continue to evolve into an easy and effective way to maintain skin health, we are beginning to feel more comfortable sharing our experiences with friends, partners and families.
In that spirit, if you refer a friend to come and see us for an aesthetic procedure, you’ll both receive $50 credit towards a treatment. Terms and conditions apply – ask our staff for more details and to secure your Referral Card!
