Dr Lynton Stephen has completed skin cancer education through HealthCert Education, the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and the Australian College of Cutaneous Oncology. He holds a Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and other certifications in dermoscopy, cutaneous oncology, and surgical interventions such as flaps and grafts. Dr Stephens has an extensive background working exclusively in skin cancer medicine and is especially skilled in complex surgical procedures of the skin. He is interested in the broad range of skin cancer pathology and possible treatments, including curettage and cautery, and flaps and grafts.
After Dr Stephens obtained his medical degrees, he worked in general practice providing top quality primary healthcare to his patients in South Australia and Darwin for more than three decades. Working mostly in rural areas, Dr Stephens observed a huge unmet need for specific medical attention in the management of skin cancer.
Dr Stephens is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He looks forward to welcoming both existing and new patients for a detailed and friendly skin cancer check at North East Skin Cancer Centre in Adelaide.
