Dr Punya Gamaralalage has been performing skin cancer checks and skin lesion excisions since 2013. She has advanced postgraduate qualifications in skin cancer medicine, surgery and dermoscopy. Dr Gamaralalage is particularly interested in helping people in the Darling Downs community reduce their skin cancer risk and rate of recurrence and is passionate about identifying and treating common skin cancers like melanoma in their early stages to save lives.
Dr Gamaralalage graduated university in Sri Lanka in 2004 and worked on surgical wards for three years, where she developed an interest in skin health and skin cancer. She has worked in hospitals and medical centres in Australia since 2011 in Coffs Harbour and Toowoomba and obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019.
