Dr James Millsom holds various postgraduate qualifications in skin cancer medicine, skin cancer surgery, and dermoscopy. For the past few years, Dr Millsom has focused his practice exclusively on the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of skin cancer. He regularly keeps his skills up to date with university-certified training and is interested in teaching other doctors the skills required to manage the disease.
Dr Millsom completed his medical degrees in 2008 and worked in emergency medicine and occupational medicine before settling into general practice, where skin cancer care made up a lot of his day-to-day work. He was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015.
Dr Millsom is experienced with dermoscopy, skin excisions, biopsies, cryotherapy, skin cancer surgery, and suturing. He is interested in the early detection of skin cancer and educating his patients in skin cancer prevention. His work is both challenging and rewarding, as there are not many other fields of medicine where a doctor can make an immediate impactful change to a patient's health!
