Dr Patrick Mewing has worked in skin cancer medicine for nearly 30 years. He undertook training in cosmetic surgery in 1998 and developed a keen interest in using his skills in skin cancer surgery. He went on to co-found one of the first skin clinics on the Gold Coast in 2000 at Paradise Point, and founded Gold Coast Skin Centre in Palm Beach in 2010.
Dr Mewing completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Queensland in 1992 and completed further training at the Royal Free Hospital in London and at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) in Brisbane. He worked in Accident & Emergency at PAH and St Andrews War Memorial Hospital before commencing general practice in 1994.
