Dr Ruwan Wijemunige completed his Fellowship in General Practice here on the Gold Coast with extra training in skin cancer diagnosis and surgery. He holds a Certificate of Dermoscopy and advanced qualifications in skin cancer surgery, and he is currently completing a master's degree in skin cancer medicine from The University of Queensland - Australia's highest certification in skin cancer.
Dr Wijemunige is passionate about skin cancer prevention, detection, treatment and research. He has co-authored multiple research papers and enjoys providing evidence-based care tailored to his patients. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at The University of Melbourne in 2002 and spent the next 15 years working in various hospitals in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
