Dr Thanu Shekar has worked in skin cancer since 2014 and holds a portfolio of university certifications in skin cancer medicine and surgery, dermatoscopy, histopathology, and skin cancer therapeutics. She is dedicated to performing thorough skin checks, identifying any concerning lesions and then discussing treatment options with patients, taking into consideration evidence-based guidelines and patients’ preferences. She is skilled in topical therapies and surgical procedures and enjoys the challenge of identifying skin cancers and learning about advances in diagnostic techniques, as well as offering a range of therapeutic options and staying up to date with new technologies.
Dr Shekar graduated from Monash University in Melbourne with first class honours and has worked in general practice since 2010, pursuing her special interest in skin cancer for the past several years.
